In the interactive events, each guest receives a unique character with a backstory, and the event unfolds with a mix of storytelling, investigation, and interaction. Most parties lasts between 1.5 to 2 hours, ending with a thrilling “who dunnit” revelation.

Meet Our Murder Mystery Team
David co-founded Baker Street Mystery and has hosted more than 300 events since the company's first public show in October 2019. He designed the format, trains the hosts, and still runs events personally — because the only way to keep improving the experience is to stay in it.
Before Baker Street Mystery existed as a business, he spent years attending immersive experiences to understand what real engagement looks like from the inside: Masquerade NYC, Bridge Command, the Kit Kat Club, escape rooms of every design, and more murder mystery formats than he'd care to count. That research is ongoing and shapes every decision about how events are built and run.

Every event that runs smoothly has Stephanie working behind it. She manages the operations, logistics, and finances that make Baker Street Mystery function — which means David gets to focus on the events, Jamie gets to focus on clients, and the hosts get to focus on the night.
Her background in finance means nothing falls through the cracks: bookings are confirmed, contracts are clean, and the details that guests never have to think about are handled before they ever show up.

Sam is the host your group will talk about on the way home. She has the rare ability to pull a reluctant participant into the story without making them feel put on the spot, and to keep a rowdy table focused without losing the energy that made it rowdy in the first place.
She loves the moment when a guest who "wasn't sure about this kind of thing" becomes the most invested person in the room — which, at a Baker Street Mystery event, happens more often than you'd expect.
Jamie is usually the first voice you hear when you reach out about a private or corporate event. Her background in hospitality means she asks the right questions, helps you think through the format, and makes sure the event you're imagining is the event that actually happens.

I've been wanting to host a murder mystery for awhile but didn't know where to begin. I also didn't want to be the host. Therefore, I went with Baker Street Murder Mystery for a private party. I had zero stress planning and was very much taken care of. All my questions were answered quickly and the company is very professional. The night of the event was a huge success. Everyone had so much fun and the host kept things rolling and it was very interactive. I would definitely throw another party through this company. David was so amazing with all the plans, event, my questions, and was a must excellent host. The night exceeded my expectations. Great company and very enjoyable/entertaining.

Are your events family-friendly?
While some themes may only be appropriate for 14+, most of our events are family-friendly with parent guidance. Some themes might reference: alcohol, drugs, tobacco, affairs, or prostitution. Individual theme pages provide content guides.
How much does a murder mystery party cost?
Murder mystery party pricing depends on group size and event format.
Our experiences are fully hosted and designed to work best with 15–20 players. For smaller groups, we offer Small Batch Experiences, which use adjusted story formats and additional facilitation to ensure the mystery plays smoothly. These are priced at a flat rate.
- Small Batch Experiences (6–19 guests):
Flat-rate pricing from $375–$600, depending on group size - Expanded Case Experiences (20+ guests):
$20 per person, or $25 per person with character assignments
All private events include a professional host, guided gameplay, and a complete interactive mystery from start to finish.
If your guest count is flexible, inviting a few additional guests is often the easiest way to access per-person pricing.
Do you travel outside of San Antonio?
Yes. Travel outside the San Antonio area may be available for private and public events depending on location and availability. We currently host events regularly from Fredericksburg to Wimberley.
How many guests are required for private events?
Private events are available for groups of 6 or more guests.
Our mysteries are designed to work best with 15–20 players, which allows the story to unfold with the greatest depth and interaction. For smaller groups, we offer Small Batch Experiences that use adjusted story formats and additional facilitation to ensure a smooth and engaging experience.

How long does a Murder Mystery party last?
Our public murder mystery parties usually last 2 hours. Smaller parties with less than 20 guests typically last an hour and a half. For private events we can adjust the duration to fit your needs.
Do guests need acting experience?
You don’t need acting experience to participate. Guests receive clear character guides, objectives, and host support. Acting in character is optional. Some guests lean into roleplay, while others focus on strategy, deduction, and conversation. The experience works at any comfort level.
Our parties are designed to be intuitive and welcoming—even for first‑timers. Many competitors also offer “interactive” events, but theirs often still feature central actors to manage pace and plot. We trust the group to carry the narrative, supported by materials and structure—not scripts.
I’ve never done a murder mystery party—how do they work?
Guests receive a character with a backstory, secrets, and private objectives. Throughout the event, guests mingle, share information, negotiate alliances, exchange evidence, and uncover clues. The mystery unfolds based on player interaction, not a fixed script.
Expect a themed, character-driven evening where you step into a role—detective, suspect, or someone with hidden motives. Through conversation, investigation, and use of gameplay tools like clue sheets or “money,” guests collaborate to solve the mystery. No acting experience is required—just a spirit of engagement and curiosity.
